The good news is that the NVC / Manila Embassy granted us our interview date!

The stressful news is the interview was scheduled on April 1 (2 weeks notice).  We are having difficultly getting a medical appointment before the 8th.

Do we have to have the medical results before the interview?  Or is the appointment enough and they handle it all after?

I understand your worry. Our interview was only two weeks notice as well. When we called for medical, they prioritized and gave us an appointment three days before the interview after we gave them our interview date. You've tried and they don't have availability, and you gave them your interview date?

You need the medical results at the interview with you.

Getting the medical in advance of the interview is the best practice but often in the Philippines, you will not have full results right away.  Get the medical in advance if you can but it is not required.  Calling St. Luke's beforehand to inform them of your interview date MIGHT help.  Worth a try.

Hello, I am following this thread. I have the same situation. I tried calling SLEC but the phone numbers on their website are not working. I also emailed them last week. I just want to make sure that they accept walk-in. With the lockdown and everything that is happening, it is really stressful. I hope we find answers. Good luck to us!

St Luke's now forwards the medical results directly.   Hand carry is no longer the process.

YMMV

Except that the US embassy in Manila typically won't interview an applicant that has not done the medical yet.

@David Holmes, try to get a walk-in slot for medical at SLEC.  Others have reported success doing so recently, like this VJ member --

Hey everyone!  Good news.  She got up at 3am, hired a car to Manila, and did the walk-in, and it worked!

She has her medical now, well in advance of the interview.  Now we're just collecting our papers and getting ready for the BIG DAY. Wish us luck!
