My husband had interview on Aug 1st, 2019, they kept the passport and ask for few docs, we uploaded right away but nobody reviewed them then immigration ban happened, we waited 1 and half years. Early this month ban lifted. We got few “ Case last updated “ date changes on Ceac but status remained same refused. So without any process embassy send the passport back. But husband passport has expired. Please kindly help, what does it means when they send back passport? Embassy wants us to renew or it’s visa rejected ?

Also how can this be an F2B case if there is a married person involved? Do you mean F2A? Are you the petitioner?

Yes my petitioner, Green Card holder. Bringing husband to US. So embassy don’t issue visas on expired passport? This could be the reason they returned? On Monday we’ll call them to know why they send back.

Of course they can’t issue a visa in an expired passport. That is why they specifically ask for an unexpired passport:

Unexpired passport valid for six (6) months beyond your intended date of entry to the United States and a photocopy of the biographic page (where your name and photo are located).

I see you have other posts elsewhere about your case and documents being asked for, it is really much easier if you keep questions related to your case in one thread so that people answering understand the context. If they have asked for updated documents it would usually be because they plan to issue the visa.

Thank you so much, sorry I posted a lot. I have a question, how many joint spooners can be added to one case? Because they person who sponsored our case, he saying maybe he is low on income this year. Can we add new joint sponsor when we upload new docs?
