About the filing office, interview location, and change of address

Hello. 

Does anyone know how is the location for the interview, is it given by you by USCIS?, do they assign the location for the interview according with your address? I don't remember being asked the filing office, except for the lockbox Chicago IL.

and what would happen if we move out of state in the middle of the process. I know the is a form we would have to file, but how ofter is the case updated?

 

another question, is there a way to see how your case updates online?

if you move out of states, your new office will be in your new location where your residence is..

Yes, they do ask about that on the I-485.
Case status update is random, some people are done in 6 months, some in 2 years.

Local office is assigned according to your zip code. If you move, you have to report the change of address within 10 days, and then your case will be moved to the new office. 

 

Just use the USCIS website to check your case.

Thank you. In the update I meant like if there is an account through USCIS to do a follow up to my case.
