We have a private group on Facebook for CR1 / IR1 cases from Colombia and DQ dates are shared and when they receive an appointment for an interview since the embassy in Bogota Colombia reopened.  And they are receiving appointments for this category cases with DQ March 2020.

Hi! Congratulations.

I've got a few questions please:

1. This is a bit unclear. Are you saying you DQ in Oct 2020, got approved in March 2021 and your interview is in February 2022?

I'm in the process of getting DQ, kindly clear this up with the years attached to your dates.

2. Can someone please explain what being "approved" after DQ is? @Betty Jean said she was "DQ in Oct" and "Approved in March"

3. I would also like to know if the process of getting DQ and queueing for the interview is different for the categories. I am F2B.

4. After getting DQ, does everyone waiting for embassy interview merge into one queue or there are several queues for the different categories as well

Thank you. Glad I found this thread. This whole process has been quite stressful.

I agree it is unclear on the dates indicated.  It does indicate interview in Feb 2022 however interview notices, according to what I have read here, are not given 11 months prior, only about 1 month prior.  So, yes, very confusing.

Above confusion aside, from what I have read and asked/been told here:  DQ is the same as NVC Complete.  You are in the Queue for embassy interview after DQ.  There is no further NVC approval.

I am referring to answers I have been given in regard to CR1 Visa.  In regard to merging into one queue vs different Categories:  Again, I can only say what I've read here, and I once read here that it depends on whether your consulate/embassy separates them by category when sending the available appointments to NVC.

I'm a rookie here.  Somebody may be able to give more definitive answers than I have given and resolve the apparent confusion in the timing you originally asked about.

Thanks @Steve Mao. Lets see what the more experienced people on here will say.
