For that amount of money you could have bought her a printer and scanned and emailed to her the needed documents

YMMV

Here is an update.  I'm really angry because the Embassy had our paperwork for weeks before we found out.  lot of wasted time.  I ended up hiring an attorney in Kiev to help my fiancee finish this and set up the interview.  Had my attorney here done his job, the interview would have been early April.  Now its late May.  I'm angry.  She has to give 1 month notice to her job and probably won't be here until the end of June at the earliest.  This is beyond frustrating.  We're trying to get an earlier interview, but my attorney in Kiev basically said its impossible.  Anyone else been able to reschedule their interview earlier at other embassies?  Is this very uncommon in this COVID world?

It doesn't matter if other consulates allow earlier rescheduling,  what does matter is, does Kyiv?  Most likely it would be dependent on a cancellation of some sort,   but how would you be notified of an opening?  Are appointment scheduling online?

YMMV

Supposedly.  I haven't attempted it, but our attorney is looking and so is my fiancee.  Attorney just wasn't optimistic on an earlier date.

I wouldn't be optimistic either.  People have waited so long that it would have to be quite an "emergency" to give an appointment up now.

YMMV

Update: she was able to move her interview to May 21 from May 29.  Not much difference, but slightly better.  I'm wondering how quickly to expect approval.  Have to start looking at airfare, but not sure when to buy.
