I petitioned my fiancé since 2019! I don’t even know if to cry or laugh at this point 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s ridiculous

I think I am going through the , what is it 5? , stages of grieving. Sorry if I get upset, but ppl from counties that are stable and dont have rockets, bullets, IED, suicide bombers, and kidnapping/torture to worry about have absolutely no idea how important it is to get through this process in a reasonable time. It especially drives me crazy that there are many Iraqis that the Americans have already done these extreme backgrounds checks on. The Americans have files on them. What else do they need to know that they dont already know.

Anyone that has ever been on the phone with their spouse, hear rockets go off and the phone go dead knows what Im talking about.

Did you ever get information back from the embassy or did the WOM work? My husband and I are now in the same situation (Colombia). His passport was returned through courier about 80 days after his interview with no additional information. His status shows refused.

Hi! My husband was under AP for 6 months. We saw movement after we filed the WOM. After about 3 months the visa was issued.

Im so sorry to hear this. My mom also had her interview in June in Bogota for IR-1 visa. She was put into AP however, now that she got cleated they have requested her Passport, since august she is still awaiting a response.   Your husband should have received a letter stating the reason for refusal. There is a Facebook group you can join its for people IR1 and CRI in Bogota Colombia. Maybe someone there can offer advice or has had a smiliar situation to you. Search for Facebook group visa IR-1 y CR-1 Colombia and request to join.

The consular officer kept my passport and said “everything is fine and nothing is missing but we need more time to review your documents” and gave me a white paper marking on administrative processing. The case after the interview became refused. IR1, Egypt, what does this mean? And when are these procedures going to end and the case becomes issued?

Thanks for responding. Did his CEAC status show the long text for Refused or the shorter text? A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please see the letter you received at the interview.
