I just applied for my mum (she is in hong kong) - technically July 2021 filer, not march (but I can't find a thread for July). My mum doesn't speak any english unfortunately. Does anyone know what would happen when it comes time to the interview? Can i go with her? or can she bring an interpreter? or is it going to be in her native language?

Native language they have interpreter according to my experience in us embassy in Morocco.

Hello wonderful people! I am about to file my parents' I130s online. However, I was wondering how long its generally taking these days for I-130 applications to process and which application center would I be assigned to if I file the application from Seattle? The reason I ask is because I-130 times vary drastically from service center to service center - for example Nebraska is taking 7 months while California is taking 24-30 months. I cannot wait that long for my parents to arrive as they are really old and dependent on me. Additionally, my wife's I-130 is still pending (since June 2018) which was filed by our attorney via paper mail to CSC though we switched to AOS in Dec 2019 so may be that's what's delaying the whole process. Anyway, I am super confused seeing folks getting I-130 approved within 2-3 months on this thread and baffled how could that be possible when both my wife's pending application and processing times online indicate otherwise?

I only applied for my mom a few weeks ago so don't know what the timeline is, but my Seattle petition was routed to Texas. Someone said on a different thread that the service centers are assigned somewhat randomly.

hello, I filed a petition I-130  for my mom and dad. Do I need to pay the AOS each petition or do I only pay it once?

Before paying the fees I read this note on top of the fees need to be paid.

"If you are a U.S. citizen with petitions for your unmarried son(s), unmarried daughter(s), and/or parent(s) also in process at the National Visa Center, you only need to submit one AOS Fee for this case and all Related Cases."

Hope someone can answer. Thanks

Hi everyone, is there a deadline for our visa application? My mum and I are a little worried because we’ve been having lockdowns back home in the Philippines. There are documents that she needs to submit however some of the offices are closed due to the pandemic. Instead of us submitting the documents as fast as we could, it’s taking longer.

Thank you!

Hi folks,

Dealing with USCIS is quite the experience.

I filed the i130 online for my mother in March-2021, and like most people, the case was defaulted to the Nebraska Service Center.

As of last week, my case remained in "Received" status, so I called USCIS to inquire about the case and was informed that my case was really at the Texas Service Center. Anyway, after a few hours, my case's status changed to "Actively Reviewing", and I was wondering if this means there could be good news any time now. What do you guys think?

For me this is good news. After a month of receiving this update, our petition was approved. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s the same for you. All the best!

First of all - a big congratulations to you and your family.

It has been 22 days since I got the "case is being actively reviewed update" - I will keep the hope alive.

Also, I called again, and was told that while the case is awaiting adjudication, it is still well within normal processing times (10-13 months).

Hi Folks,

Its been a while and wanted to check-in on the group.   I see most are still waiting.  For me, I'm still waiting but based upon the message, looks like nothing is outstanding and case has been in active review since July 8th.

Hello everyone,

HELP! My Parent got approved last month. I am currently doing their papers in NVC. I am currently confused right now, because this process is overwhelming me. Plus, I got a lot of things going on (including new job etc).

I am just desperate to be reunited with my Parents here in United States. Can someone assist me on what should I do next?

Petition Approved 📌

NVC Fees Paid 📌

My question is, Do I need to pay the AOS right away, or I can just go ahead and do their DS-260 Process first, and do their AOS when they get here? I am a solo petitioner, what kind of forms can I submit to prove my eligibility?

Attached is a photo that drives me crazy. I don’t know If I can only do one, or do I need to both and at the same time?

Please help me! 😔😔😔
