What country are you asking about? Fill in your timeline to get more embassy/country specific answers. The questions are on the medical questionnaire. Any admission will most likely result in a one year ban at minimum.

I suspect it depends on the country as well. My fiance said he wasn't even asked about his drug/alcohol use in Senegal. A lot of the cases I've read about people having problems were in the UK, Philippines, Mexico and Jamaica.
