Hi!

I am currently residing in China and am an applicant for visa to the US. I am a foreigner in China. I´ve lived in three cities in China - Tianjin, Harbin and Shanghai. I have no problem with obtaining the certificate from Shanghai local police and from public notary office, but in the public notary office they said if I need the certificate to cover all around China I still have to obtain the certificates from Harbin and Tianjin. If I get one police cert from Shanghai (covering just Shanghai) is that enough to submit during the interview?

I´ll appreciate your answer. Thanks!

Frankly, I think it is enough. Chinese Citizens obtain only one police certificate no matter how man cities they've lived in. Just for extra assurance though, I would ask this question at http://www.candleforlove.com. They only deal with China there.

I'm not going to be getting any news on your question. If you want to know for certain you have it covered, I woudl email the Consulate IV unit in Guangzhou directly. Otherwise, asking at candle might get you an answer from somebody who has been through the visa process as a foreigner in China.
