Hey, I was trying to find out if anyone has had to deal with an issue with their Indian passport having a space in their first name, so my wife's name is Amritpal but in the passport it says Amrit pal.  I did check with NVC that it doesn't matter since they will simply issue the visa based on what is written in the passport.  I was trying to confirm if anyone has had a similar issue and if they had any problem with their interview due to it.  I checked with multiple NVC customer service reps and they all said it won't be an issue but, I wanted to verify here as well.

We applied for K1 and had green card interview in USA. My husband has a space in his first name and no middle name, it wasn't a problem. Sometimes some places will put a dash in between like the DMV did that. I also have two words in my first name but with a dash and was born in us and my passport has a dash between. But my DMV card doesn't. Sometimes they will combine or put a space or a dash but I have never had issues.

Hopefully it isn't an issue I think the passport office in India just messed up twice for no reason with her passport.  Since there is no space or dash in her name since it is just Amritpal but for some reason they separate it.  Even though on all of the legal documents used to renew her passport did not have a space, almost like they ignored the documents and decided to make the same error when issuing the new one.

Yea I wouldn't worry about it...I have four parts of my full name and almost every ID is different, it doesn't matter. Sometimes on any application it will ask you other names you are known by and you can always put other variations there. If it is mispelled that is different but if it's just a space or a hyphen there is nothing to worry about.
