Any Ecuador K1 Visa applicants here?

Anyone have a fiance in Ecuador? If so, I'm curious what your process has been like. We filed in mid September so we are still waiting on the NOA2. Curious if anyone is a little ahead of us in the process

Just a clarification, even though it is technicially a nonimmigrant visa, all K-1 cases go to the Immigrant Visa Unit of the US Consulate in Guayaquil.

 

The US Embassy in Quito handles other types of nonimmigrant visas.

 

Once USCIS approves your cases and it reaches NVC, there may be a delay before it gets sent to Guayaquil due to the backlog with interviews there.

 

The good news is that although the Department of State pages make it sound like they aren't processing K-1 interviews in Guayaquil, the visa issuance statistics show that there have been a steady number of K-1s issued each month since September, so it isn't at a complete standstill like in some places.

 

Back when we did the K-1, our petition was received on September 4, 2018 and approved by USCIS on February 2, 2019. Right now the USCIS processing times show 5.5 months to 7.5 months at the California Service Center for the I-129F.
