Has anyone received help from their congressman for their K1 visa? Has it helped the process go faster? Are congressmen able to appeal to our country’s US consulate for see if they can expedite visa interviews? Any tips would be appreciated

You only call them when the case is way out of normal processing time.

But can they appeal to your country’s US consulate? Can that help with getting an interview sooner?

If you are within normal processing times then the answer is no

All they do is inquire about your case and all that happens is the consulate says still in process.
I got my case expedited from NVC to Embassy for interview, but it took 5 tries and one year.
Every Embassy is different, so trying these things wont hurt, but may not do anything.
Wish u the best.

What was your reason for expediting if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve attempted 3 times and nothing

With three different "reasons"?  The consulate is wise to people fishing for reasons to expedite...

What was your reason?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

No,  the can inquire if you sign a release and they get the same info you get if you phone

and there is no appeal

Hi! In my experience the congressman was helpless! I reached out to him 2x, first time was to expedite my fiancé’s interview and recently, after my fiancé’s interview he was put under administrative process, I reached out once again, while other congress rep. Were willing to help immediately people I met thru this visa journey, my representative refused to do so. He said I had to wait 180 days before they were able to do a congressional inquiry.
You can always give it a try since some Congress people are willing to help, I’m in Florida so I can tell you, I received  0 assistance.

I see what you’re saying. I just wondered if the US Consulate in Lagos would even care to hear from my congressman. All this is so frustrating

Congressperson can enquire as to the current status, not a care issue, the Consulates are used to dealing with enquiries and will respond.
