Help with the Affidavit of Support

Hi guys! Since we were recently approved and our case is being sent to the NVC, we have to start working on our affidavit of support. Since my spouse barely makes the minimum, most of the income is unofficialy, we are struggling to figure out how we are going to make it (since we cant think of a join sponsor). So i would like to know from those of you who passed that stage... how much did you actually had to be over the poverty line? i know the minimum is 21.550, but did anyone had the affidavit approved by making exactly that amount? Thank you

What does "most of the income is unofficialy" mean?  Income must be documented.....If you are that close, you probably need a joint sponsor.  A joint sponsor can be any qualified US citizen or Green Card holder.

 Yes we are cutting that close. I think the yearly income of my sponsor is 22.000k.

Thats why i wanted to know if anyone in here was approved in the same kind of situation

If most of the income is unofficial do you mean tax obligations are not being properly met? And this is a green card holder?

Consulate Officers look at the big picture, but I can tell you that there have been plenty of people who were slightly above the guidelines, yet were required to find a joint sponsor.  Good luck in your journey.

taxes are being properly met and my spouse is already an american citizen

 

im just really afraid her income, which is the absolute minimum, wont be enough since we cant get a joint sponsor
