We are inspired to present another "correlation-means-causation" Official VAWA-Thread Joke, to catalyze more approvals:

---------------

THREE PROSPEROUS SONS GIVE GIFTS TO MOM

Three sons left home, went out on their own, and prospered.  They discussed the gifts that they were able to give their elderly mother.

The first said, "I built a big house for our mother."

The second said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver."

The third said, "You remember how much our mother enjoys reading the Bible.  At her age, she can't see very well, so I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible.  It took all the elders in the church 12 years to teach him!  Mama just has to name the chapter and verse, and the parrot recites it."

Soon thereafter, their mother sent out her letters of thanks.

"William," she wrote, "the house that you built is so huge.  I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house."

"Arnold," she said, "I am too old to travel.  I stay mostly at home, so I rarely use the Mercedes.  And that driver is so rude!  He's a pain!"

"But David," she said, "the little chicken was delicious!"

:P

Hahahahahahah

Hi all,

Great to see so many approvals! I am starting to get worried about my I-485, I had the interview scheduled 2/2019 and I attended with my lawyer. We asked the officer to keep my I-485 open and they kindly agreed to. There has been no updates on my I-485 since that and my I-360 got approved in December. I sent an update request for my I-458 through the USCIS website but didn't receive anything. I am in Brooklyn, but we filed I-485 in NY and the interview was in Manhatttan. Should I contact congressman or just keep waiting? Is it possible that my I-485 papers are lost or disconnected with my I-360 case? The interview line in Brooklyn is very long, so I would like to make sure it is at least at the end of the line.

Thank you for always being so helpful!

2/2019: Interview was scheduled (no updates since that)
03/2019:  Filed I-360
03/2019: Attended I-485 interview with my lawyer, they agreed to keep my case open
12/2021:  I-360 Case was approved

NYC is taking 14/18 months to schedule an interview.

Please guys don’t judge me but this journey has been to hard for me. I’m about to give up and file through my husband again. We are still together. Have anyone been in this situation before? If I filed through him do I have to disclose that I had filed for Vawa? Are they going to question about my Vawa in the interview?

Yes  you have to disclose this with immigration, and most likely they will inform the USCIS and they will deny your I-360.You have to choose if you want to continue with your I-130 or I-360, you can't keep both petitions, but if you decide to file through your husband and decide later on to refile VAWA again you will have a problem of "credibility", and it will be a big problem for you.

August 2019 and nothing so far. Only PF.
I have a lot evidence but the shared residence worries me a lot. My husband works out of state and comes home only on the weekend. I don’t know how USCIS will see that and this is driving me crazy. I can’t be denied because I can’t be separated from my baby girl. He will never allowed me fly back to my country with her.

USCIS allows you to file VAWA Vawa while living with your husband, but once VAWA is approved YOU MUST leave him. They will deny your AOS  If you are living with him when you have to attend the interview.

Maybe they have sent you a RFE and you didn’t respond to that, have you try contacting your Congress person?

Thanks for the insight. I in fact work really closely with the Congressman’s office, but USCIS kept telling them that they are doing background checks which scares the Congressman away. As a congressman, you don’t want your name on the file for circumventing the security of the entire country just because you want to exercise your power. So fingers crossed. I hope for the best everyday.

can you travel abroad when you get I360 approval ? or you have to wait until the interview ?

You can travel abroad if you never filed asylum or if you are NOT  in removal proceedings. You need to check if the Country you want to go there is no covid restrictions.
