Hi all,

November,2019 filler here. Received RFE good moral character on december, 2019, replied same month. No PF, no news until now.

It seems Uscis is only processing cases from may,2019 and before. Anyone after this date has been approved?

I am August 2019 filer, my vawa got approved on February 24 2021

Dear friends

I applied my VAWA in May 2018 no RFE straight to approval on feb 2020

then I got an RFE in the month of Feb 2021 in I-485 regarding the medicals I submitted

the  medical and today I got my green card.

but in this long journey first my younger sister passed away in the month of November 2020 and then with 17 days time my father passed away in December 2020 and I can not even travel to attend their funerals.

I have a question that now my mother and younger sister is alone in my home country can I sponsee then or at least apply a visit visa for them.

need some suggestions

Congratulations 🗽🇺🇸

Hi VJ family. I live in Texas and my I-360 approved last year. I would like to buy a handgun since I like to go shooting range and my question is can I buy a gun in Texas with my status?

Why are you thinking of buying a gun, sorry we’re not doing gun things here.

Thanks for @Stillwinning!!!😊 @Villanelle and other VJ members for your valuable suggestions

Went to Field office and immediately infopass officer requested id and unexpired ead.

And asked about the issue and contacted supervisor

Supervisor brought my file with her and explained the same.Already my congressman provided my safe address a week ago.IO told that i will get notice in 2 weeks

Requested interview date atleast. She had mentioned ..the officer who do these interviews need their available time on calendar

If you didn't get notice in 2 weeks ..she had mentioned come after 3 or 4 weeks later with out appointment(kind of infopass)

Confirmed by security too

Very good experience ...not even a minute wait time

hi everyone!

I was checking my cases online as usual, and today my previous I-130 receipt changed to "Termination notice was sent to you"

I-485 pending since 2017 no change/no updates

vawa approved since August 2020.

Is this bad? or it means that they now will base my i485 on my approved vawa and not on I-130 anymore?

please, help @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj and whoever can explain what happened please?

When they deny form  I-130 they deny form 485 as well, but I had a few cases that USCIS denied the I-130,once the I-360 replaces the I-130,but they didn't deny the I-485 and my clients had the interview after  the VAWA was approved. They denied your I-130, but they might not deny your I-485 and you will find out soon.

Once the 360 is approved VSC sends it to NBC. NBC then does a quick review that all the documents are there (including background check) and the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview before sending it to the local office. Once it gets to the local office you will be placed in line for an interview slot to open. The background check can take a long time for some people. They check your name as it is spelled and any variations of your name. Depending on the countries involved and how easily they can obtain records and if you have a common name or unfortunately share a name with a known criminal it can take some time for them to complete it. There is nothing anyone can do to speed up the background check. You just have to wait for it to be completed.

You mentioned having a C31 and a C09 EAD. You only need 1 EAD. If the C09 EAD was still valid then they may decide to not issue a renewal C31 as you have a valid EAD in C09 category.

Wow so does background check means they match someone's names with the criminal records of the whole world or is it just the countries one has declared they have lived for more than 6 months?.

Thanks, my issue is I get financial aid, and it says that I have to maintain eligibility, and my term ends april 30th but my prima facie expires april 2nd and with USCI, you never know, I cannot afford to wait and hope only for me to not be able to go back to school, or worse have to return the aid back to the school.

Ask Uscis to renew your prima facie.
