Hi guys I am in a panic mood...after waiting for so long I received my interview notice for the state I no longer live in ...I had asked for changed of address one year ago....Please what am I to do?

I received an interview for my daughter on her I-485 on a different state that we never lived in. What I did was write to Vermont asking to be reschedule it to my current state. I didn't receive any reply but I got a new schedule after a month on my current state. If it's not that far maybe driving is faster but my situation was really far and we need to fly.

I am in odd situation now. As many of you know, i replied to my RFE. Guy who was really close to me and was witness of my marriage and abuse decides to blackmail me. I asked him to write statement for my RFE which he did. He did for my first RFE as well. He has some of my money i gave him long time back. Now when i am asking him money back, he said he wont give me back and also he will call USCIS and tell them I was in sham marriage. He asked me to forget money i sent him. Kind of guy he is some day he will try to put in immigration trouble. He smartly over the mails/chat and calls saying he has my money but nothing about black mailing. I am now more stressed. I am honestly clean.  But not sure if he really decides to call USCIS, then how they will react.

I called police and his family, but they said i need to file civil small claim court case. I hate having friends like these.

Ok guys so I’m freaking out. Remember the 20th I told you guys that my I-360 case changed to new card being produced, but just now my I-765 that I applied for along with the I-360 says case denied.
can someone advise me as to what this might mean?

What was the category code on the I765 that was denied? Sometimes they seem to deny the C9 one when they issue the C31 EAD, (which should be fine as you will get an EAD anyway). At least that's what I saw in previous posts. "the card being produced" status is for C31 approval. You should have the C31 card in hand before the end of the month. More senior members please weigh in, in case I am wrong.

Divorced US citizen spouse in December 2017.

On H1b status since 2014, H1b 6 years expired in May 2020. Out of status / Period of authorized stay since then.

Amended EAD petition to C9 and filed expedite request for same in mid-may 2020.

C9 EAD approved June 4, 2020.

I-360 case approved status update - Nov 22, 2021.

No RFE throughout.

Senator's office confirmed via congressional inquiry that the St. Louis office has received the I485 file and is currently awaiting interview scheduling - March 7, 2022

C9 EAD renewal card production case update - July 20, 2022 (took them just 17 months to process)

C9 EAD / AP renewal approval case update on both cases on July 21, 2022.

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

Unfortunately my lawyer really hates it whenever I try to reach out and make contact with USCIS, I honestly kinda feel helpless with her. Was your renewal application based on C09 category but still needed to be sent to VSC? I have a pending i485 since I had it held in abeyance.

Yes to your question. Also it’s up to you to request congressional assistance or do what your attorney wants! For me I sought assistance and it paid off! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do..You are the one in a situation, not your attorney!🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for your timely reply.

That’s what concerns me, I already have c9 category. The one they denied is for the c31, yet my I-360 says new card is being produced

Hello friends ... is anyone still waiting on their second RFE review? It's been 73 days since I sent my response. Anyone knows the average time for how long it takes USCIS to review RFEs?

My RFE was to submit more proof that I resided with my ex-wife.

I replied to my RFE in March 2019 and it's still on " we received your response "

How do you know that the one denied was a C31 I765 case? does the C31 EAD receipt number on your physical receipt notice match the receipt / case number on the I765 online case that shows up as denied?

Because my lawyer filed it with my I-360 under category c31. Yes the receipt number matches, and that the only pending I-765 case I have. I’m also positive it’s a c31 because I have a copy of everything my lawyer filed, so that’s why I’m worried
