Thank you @sandranj for guiding with the best answers! tysm! I wanted work permit badly since I didnt EAD for few years, therefore my lawyer said there is one way to get it now that is, if we submit COR to court, they will stamp me and I can apply work permit after that. the total cost with the lawyers fees is $4000+. Since I have no knowledge about this area I wanted second opinion as it is costly for me. I do not even now if it will take a long time for the court to stamp me, etc. My lawyer does not state these things clearly and im in a dilemma if I should proceed with COR or not. Just the timeline, risk (if any) and $ is are my utmost concern.

If you can provide any info or your best opinion @sandranj I would be ever grateful! you are a God sent angel ❤️ TYSM

In your case that you are in removal proceedings If you want a  work permit then you should file the  I-485 /I-765 with the Court. But the Court will issue the work permit just after the I-360 approval, or if you apply for cancelation of removal.l.I answered your question before and I said you didn't need to file for cancelation of removal because I understood that you just wanted to know if to adjust status you have to file cancelation of removal. Your attorney probably has experience with COR(cancelation of removal) then you have to trust him.I know the basics of COR,but it's not my expertise.

I didn’t understand what is it and how can be granted. Could someone explain it?
is it connected with a renewal? How long is the extension for?

the Extension is for 6 months. yes it connected to renewal. while you have pending EAd, the expiring one gives you 6 months extra with the receipt notice.

here is the link that explains everything.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-resources/handbook-for-employers-m-274/handbook-for-employers-m-274/40-completing-section-2-of-form-i-9/44-automatic-extensions-of-employment-authorization-documents-eads-in-certain-circumstances#:~:text=Foreign nationals in certain employment, for up to 180 days.&text=The eligible categories are published on the USCIS Automatic EAD Extension page.

So in February 2021 they printed your green card and in April 2021 they approved it? Was that not the other way around? On February you have already knew that you got approved?

That’s the question am asking my self all the time, if they print the card both has to have the same date right?  Maybe there’s something that we need to know
