Don't even think to submit affidavits that look  alike, it's a big NO NO. The  Board of Immigration published  several decisions stating  affidavits that look alike have no credibility, because they assume one person wrote all affidavits, and just changed the computer font.

I perceive that several folks here are feeling various degrees of stress, which means that it's time for another patented (well, maybe patent-pending) VAWA-Thread Joke. :P

-------

A blonde became terribly overweight, so her doctor put her on a diet.  "I want you to eat regularly for two days, then skip a day, and repeat this procedure for two weeks.  The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least 5 pounds."

When the blonde returned, she shocked the doctor by having lost nearly 20 pounds.  "Why, that's amazing!" the doctor said.  "Did you follow my instructions?"

The blonde nodded.  "I'll tell you, though -- I thought I was going to drop dead that third day."

"From hunger, you mean?" asked the doctor.

"No -- from skipping everywhere."

Lol just reading this😂😂 the miscommunication worked out alright!😜

No no, not the content. About format. I read one post where it said. Each statement shall have “I hearby “ otherwise it is not correct format. So was asking if affidavits need to be in this format. But regardless they wrote what they wanted and I already sent it USCIS. Need blessings

no you can't. person has to be present in person then only notary will be done. Do it the right way.

I sent with their ID’s. One was corona infected. Two lives in city where only essential services are available and complete lockdown inposed. Cant force them. Hope uscis will accept the fact.

Someone here said they notarize the signature. Meaning a signature they have witnessed.  So they can't notarize pre-signed letters. But they can notarize your statement that states these affidavits are legit. You can add the reason - due to Covid  in  home country, your family was unable to get this notarize.

Or, how about printing out emails that show the IP address? Highlight that, then send your notarized statement together with the emails attesting that the emails are legit.

What's your deadline?

One stays in US mailed me his original with ID and corona positive report.

two others are in lockdown and cnat get it notarized so emailed me. I print them out and sent it to uscis. Had no choice

I wouldn’t say you’re in trouble.. there have been cases of approvals without notarized statements like I said before...those officers largely use discretion in adjudicating each case...that’s why every now and then there are cases approved outside of the norms! Let’s hope yours finds such favor! Stay positive and hope only for the best!🙏😊

Thank you so much. Now stressful wait begins. Never been paranoid before.

The due date on RFE - you can add 60 days to that to submit your RFE (as far as I know, maybe someone will correct). So just wait for your friend to recover from Covid to get it notarized and hope that 2 people abroad will be able to notarize it by then. Because if you rely heavily on affidavits it wouldn't make sense to send 3 which are not notarized.

I am having sleepless nights since i got rfe. Plus i had no more documents i could add. Cant risk waiting for long and then realize they still cant notorize it. May be bad decision but i took it already and sent what i had. Really need luck now. Hope i will sail through this fire.

Really? It doesn’t make sense at all since the Vawa Manuals have this Affidavit format since ever and people use it as a guide. Would you mind to share the BIA decision please? I have worked as paralegal at CLCS over a year and they use this format a lot! Never seen any problem related to that.

Hi everyone!!!

I can't believe after a long journey... today I can see the end of it with my GC on hand!!! it is a great day... and still can't believe it!!!

I would like to share the last part of my journey because it is a little bit different, but I will share my time line at the end

I had my interview on October 21, 2020, everything went well, officer super nice no more that 30 minutes...BUT

I remarried... almost a year later my I360 was approved. Officer just updated my I485 with my husband information (USC) and that is it.

Officer handed out a letter... case under review , wait no less than 120 days, and done!

120... 130...140...150 days and nothing, no words from them, I tried twice to get infopass appointment and even talking with a 2nd tier Officer, nothing... till I contacted the congressperson again, and they said, I will help you one more time, after that we will have to keep waiting...HUGE help a week later... case approved and updated almost every other day till today when GC was delivered... I am so so so excited, GOD is everything!!!

thank you so much to this group, always being a huge help and support!!!

Did you say you remarried before 360 was approved, or have I misunderstood your statement?
