I have a question regarding  witness affidavits from overseas.

My family met my abuser after we got married back in the old country. They got their statements ready - now main question - they don't speak English so what do we do?

Do we notarize them in my native language, then send them here to an authorized translator and notarize the translation and send it to VSC then or what?

thanks

Yes thats what I did notarized family affidavits in their native language first and then translated them here and sent that all to uscis

For everyone changing address with uscis, in addition to that complete a change of address with USPS as well so that mail can be forwarded to your new address, with USCIS you never know how long it takes them to process address change, at least usps can forward mail to your new address. Hi folks, I filed my vawa i360 feb 2020 and shortly received Prima facie since that time, uscis have not sent me any RFE . However , I am worried if I need to send more evidence of the abuse. A lawyer adviced me to see a psychological therapist now because i did not see a therapist in the past before I filed vawa and he wants me to send the report to vawa unit. Previously the evidence of abuse I submitted where pics of skin burn, police report , and doctor's report. I filed my vawa by myself but since the case is taking long , I started talking to a lawyer who wants me to add this. What do you guys think ?

Thanks Shroy, I sent an inquiry yesterday to my congressman office. I attached my NOA for I-485 and I-360 approval notice with the privacy release form. You all rock in this group. Thanks a lot for being supportive. We have a very sensitive case that we can't trust anyone except for our lawyer and this Forum. God bless you all @Stillwinning!!!😊@Shroy123@sandranj@TBoneTX and all of you. For those of you who couldn't get your approval yet or just filling guard your heart and stay positive. Keep doing what you are doing. It will come up on its time.

you will hear from them very soon. keep us posted :)

The person will write the affidavit in her native language. Submit the affidavit with  respective translation. The person has to mail you the letter and you will submit your affidavits along with your VAWA petition.

that's weird.. inquire through your congress person

Thanks! I think I'll wait a little. Hope this inquiry will trigger someone looking into this. My lawyer did an unsuccessful expedite request in January. Don't want to anger them with too many inquiries even if they are at fault😳
