 I thought about this as a proactive measure to avoid denial of my 485 should incase my husband withdraws the i -130 petition. I have moved out and not currently living with my abusive spouse.I will appreciate if I can be advised and guided. Thank you!

 

 

 

Your I-485 is likely either at the NBC or a local office rather than at Vermont. Yes, you can write to the center or field office that has it asking that they'll hold it as you plan to file for VAWA. They're then supposed to give you 60 days for you to file your VAWA and send them a copy of your receipt notice. That will then move your I-485 from the I-130 to the I-360.

Oh it’s not silly at all.. I wondered what to wear too. Dress responsibly..no revealing clothes..which brings us back to being professionally put together. Carry yourself well. Every little detail counts. People watch how you conduct yourself, what you wear and the words that proceeds from your mouth. Good luck! 👍

A few days ago I posted here that I almost gave up of my Vawa case. I did had a complicated case but I choose the truth. I told everything that happened on my Affidavit even when it didn’t look good. I was even told by people here that my case didn’t look good. I was desperate because I knew everything I went through. I was honest all the time. If you are reading this don’t give up and always be honest even when people have doubts about you.
 

I filed on August 13, 2019.

3 PF and no RFE.

I am May 2019 and literally going crazy with this silence. 3 PFs as well, no RFE. I am just trying to see how long with the 3rd PF

I will advise you go dressed formally. Business suit -  not because USCIS demands it but you tend to come across different and I FEEL you'd be taken more seriously. We all know how we react to people in suit generally.

You can submit a copy of the receipt and ask the officer tô put on hold the l485, but if your spouse withdraws the sponsorship the officer will  deny the l130 and l485, even with your request .

It varies, I did not get my first PF until 6 months after I sent petition in.

I attached a picture of my “maybe” outfit.

Ive tried to select something simple. 
But maybe it’s too much.

Im nervous. Don’t want to look not professional.

Will be grateful for the honest feedback and I will be totally not offended.
