Are field offices assigned based on mailing address or physical address?

I was wondering if it's possible to put my family's address as our mailing address, if their field office has half the wait times?

it's also my previous address and there's no history of lost mail there.

Thank you in advance

I've seen both. There's a case where someone had a mailing address at a different state and that's where they got their Interview scheduled to.

If you think it would hurry things up you might consider changing both to your parents address though that might muck things up in particular with your financial sponsorship.
