I will apologize for the long explanation but need some help on options of what to do.

My father who is a green card holder applied for my brother to come to the US in 2013 under F24 category. His case was accepted in 2018 and all documents submitted. He received his interview in June of 2019. He had a 6 hour interview at the embassy in which he was accused of being married with kids which was not the case. He has a gf but never married nor has any kids. NVC called all of his neighbors and someone might have lied and told them that he was married. Nevertheless, he left the interview and his case was placed on administrative processing. A few months after the interview, he received a surprise visit from the embassy and they went through all of his belonging with permission of course and we believe they were looking for toys/women clothing as they probably thought he is indeed married. He lives alone so they found nothing but his clothes. A few months later, he was asked to submit his passport along with a police clearance and his medical report in which he did. His case on CEAC still showed Administrative processing. In April of 2020, he was again asked to submit an updated medical report to submit to his local office in which he did. Shortly after that, his case on CEAC changed to 'Ready'. It has been sitting at "Ready" since. In November of 2020, his Indian passport was returned to him with a letter stating to contact them after 12/31 in which I have several times with the same generic answer. We understand with the pandemic, the cases are backed up but its coming on close to 2 years since the interview. I contacted my local senator and they sent an official letter from their office and they received the same generic answer.

At this point, we are not sure what to do. Should be hire a lawyer to take it from here? We feel like a lawyer is going to get the same answer as us and would be a waste of money. Is there anything else we can do? Someone else we can contact? I dont know how to get this case moving forward. Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA

Hi,

The reason the US Embassy/Consulate told him to contact them after 12/31/2020 was because Trump banned issuing visas in the F2b category.  He extended it to 3/31/2021.  Biden recently lift the ban.

Try contacting the US Embassy/Consulate again now that the ban has been lifted.
