i130 approval in mail or online

I want to know if i130 approval always comes in mail or can it be electronic format? 
 

it was submitted in 2019. Not sure it it was paper filing or online

We got our approval first via email, then slightly later via post. Have you gotten your NOA1 yet?

I had mine already. When I filed there was no efile. I am just trying to find out for those who filed online. Do they only send online notification.

I filed on paper, but my case number had an "IOE" on it, which means that it is an online case. I believe that this is the standard for most cases these days, but I am not certain. You can look up what the letters at the beginning of your case number means here, and then use that to see what current timelines are for your case.

As I said, for me they sent online via email, as well as physically via post. I think the deciding factor is that I filled out form G-1145, though. I am not sure if you will be notified online if you did not fill in a G-1145.

 

You didn't ask this, but you should know that this process takes a really long time. For my spouse and I, the wait for our NOA2 has been so far the longest. You are petitioning during covid and are from a high fraud country.

Please look up the timeframes for others from Pakistan to get an idea of how long this will take, and fill in your timeline if you want to help others in a similar position to yours. Filling in your timeline will also help us know the details of your case if you have more questions down the line.
