Background:  I have asked about timing before and now I want to take a step further.  I petitioned my Filipino wife and stepdaughter, and now they are at NVC.  Our goal is to fly to the U.S. together in June 2022.  Therefore, I do not want them to have the medical / interview before February 2022 at the earliest, to avoid the medical expiring before we leave.  Ideally, the target months for med and interview would be March / April 2022.  That would allow a window to extend our departure for unforeseen circumstances.

I think I understand how to extend the NVC process.  The question is, when will I submit final requirements to NVC, so that they can close their process and schedule the embassy interview?  I'm trying to use VJ timeline data, but I think it can be very random.  Looking at "NVC Received" and "NVC Left" and "interview date" doesn't do me a lot of good.  There are short ones, like 4-6 weeks, and then long ones, like mine will be.

So what I really need is someone with a crystal ball.  When should I finalize our NVC docs to that I can come close to my target medical / interview dates?  Would Dec. 2021 be a good guess?

I do realize we can reschedule the interview if it is too early, but I would rather avoid that.  Best to hit the target with the first shot!

You are asking for a perfect prediction in a very uncertain environment.  Your guess is as good as anyone's guess.  Just know that no one knows how long PI will remain locked down or just how long the current queue is for PI at NVC.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Not perfect.   Just close to perfect.  Or your best random educated guess!  🙂

I think the best thing you can do is keep an eye on timelines of people in the same situation as you and see if you can discern any sort of regular pattern/timeframe from that. I am not confident that you'll be able to find one without losing some level of sanity.

If I've learned anything from this process and seeing others on here, it's that you don't make the immigration process conform to your wishes, you work around what you're presented with. I'm sure you've picked up on that by now. For me, especially during these covid times, it seems like whenever I start to speculate out loud things get moved back another month or two. Maybe I'll learn to stop speculating by the time our process is over. 😅

If you must have some semblance of certainty, I unironically suggest doing a search for psychics in your area. 🔮

Patience......patience.
