I find that the ignore feature on the site can make for a more enjoyable experience here.  It does make it difficult when they change or get a new username every three of four months.

Based on tone, style, and content I would guess that there is poster here in this thread on at least his third username.

Finally done.

Bigger question is why is the US not vaccinating people in the USA?

I will be surprised if I get the chance to sign up for the vaccine by August of this year.

Why do you say that?  I know a lot of people who have got shots.  Both of my older sisters, one in CA and one in CO, have theirs.  My BIL and my niece in CA got theirs.  My nephew and his wife in NM got theirs.  Several friends too.

Waste of time and effort.

Senators or Congressmen can't order the US Embassy in Manila to open, all they can do it make an inquiry into a case.

This all falls on the Philippines with it silly lockdowns, quarantines, and curfews.  Until they lift those the US Embassy will only be working with a skeleton crew and processing very few and limited visas.

The Embassy is not closed.  They are working on quite a few things, just not K1s.  I know people who have taken their kids there recently to get their passports renewed, and yesterday another friend made an appointment for his daughter's passport renewal on March 23rd.  I'm not under the impression that they are on a super small skeleton crew; they just chose to eliminate certain tasks.  That decision could easily be reversed.

That's makes no sense

The President runs the Philippines, he is the one who is behind all the lockdowns, quarantines and curfews and travel bans in the Philippines.

Duterte has little or no influence on internal decisions at the U.S. Embassy.

BTW, travel restrictions have loosened a lot in the past few weeks.

And if he is truthful about building a house and spending a lot of time in the Philippines, he won't last long with that attitude.

The MIL can write her congressman as can the petitioner, they will in turn request a status update.  The petitioner can also request an expedite.  I know there have been a few folks who have had their K1s processed, but it is few and far between.

As far as COVID vaccinations in the US, well I guess all the vaccination events taking place around the country are just a conspiracy to get people to gather together, but my coworker was complaining how sore his arm was after getting his first Moderna shot.  I tried to tell him it was all in his head...... 🤪

Same user, new username added to the ignore list....

Tell him it takes a couple of days for the tracking chip to implant itself.  It will stop hurting after that

I see starting this Saturday in Texas they just announced 1C (Which is 50 years to 65 years old) can sign up starting Saturday, so maybe I will be able to get my vaccine.

Never said they were closed, but they do have a skeleton crew and doing very limited visa interviews and alot of the routine visa interviews are not happening and haven't been happening for a long long time

Yes they are on what they call a skeleton crew

In Connecticut?  Texas is like 50 times larger and we have like 30 million people in the state and you only have like 3 million.  Way many more people and land mass to cover down here.
