Hi I am planning to fly to the states to visit my American spouse for a few weeks. We applied for the i130 a month ago. I wanted to ask if any Canadians were able to visit without any problems? I have a letter from my employer to prove ties to Canada. I am just a little nervous about getting turned back. Thank you 😊

Hello.

All the very best to you as you plan your trip. I know visiting while you have a pending I-130 is permissible. Your entry to the US is based on the CBP officer’s discretion.

After visiting my fiancé in Texas in January, I’m desiring to return so we can get married. We’re hoping the hotel quarantine will be lifted so we can. If not, we will review it again.

Thank you Vanessa for sharing your experience. Congrats I wish you the best of luck! I completely understand, the lockdown and travel restrictions has really impacted our relationships and plans. Hopefully the travel restrictions are lifted in April.

My spouse is currently visiting from toronto using her b1/b2 visitor visa while we have a pending i-130. She was able to enter but expect a rigorous review process by the CBP officer.

I am glad to hear she was able to visit you. I am hoping I don't have a hard time 😕  I currently have an F1 since I am still a student learning remotely from Canada. Thank you for responding!

Oh and I meant to let you know if you're not a part of the group already to join the Canada group on here. Very informative and a supportive bunch with tons of wisdom and love.
