Only happens to applications that have rejectable situations.   Overall approval rate is quite good.

YMMV

In thirteen years on Visa Journey, I recall a few dodgy cases that were probably denied but the people just kinda dropped out and never said. One went to the interview reeking of marijuana and acting stoned. They noticed. Another had his 18 yr old son applying for him. He had two previous years long overstays in the US with undocumented entry, he had changed his Middle Eastern name  to something like John Smith, his son (petitioner) had dodgy addresses in two states, He was asked a lot of questions and for additional documents at the interview.

If you have a dodgy case, they are pretty good at figuring it out. If you are a real couple, you won’t have any problem with that. On drugs now or have serious crimes, then you won’t qualify.

Very uncommon if you are a legitimate couple and provided legitimate proof unless like someone said above there is a reason to reject like one party is still married or something. Go read my London embassy review. My husband's interview went very smoothly.

Denials at the interview stage for K-1s in general are quite rare outside of high fraud/high security risk embassies and consulates.

By far the most common reason for a properly filed (petitioner and beneficiary are eligible, payment is correct, etc.) I-129F application not making it to a granted K-1 is withdrawal or abandonment of the process (whether because the relationship ended, the couple decided to marry and use another process, or the couple decided to live outside the US).
