I was wanting to know if I can file immigration without seeing my spouse. I have tried to visit him twice and have proof of it and it’s cancellation due to corona . It’s one thing to have no money to travel and it’s another to purchase tickets and be denied the trip . Can I file and just try to meet him before the appointment?

When you say without seeing your spouse - what do you mean? Did you get married by proxy or online without meeting in person?

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

Have you ever met?

Spouse = married

How did you get married?

I married by proxy due to my flight being canceled twice . We been trying to meet for a year . It was cheaper to marry here

Then you need to meet before you can file, phrase is consummate but does need that sort of evidence.

There are ways of visiting, I would focus on that.

Yes, this has been coming up a lot in the past few months. A lot of people assumed that proxy marriages was sufficient to move forward with immigration. But unfortunately it is not. You have to physically meet.

I read it online but it’s crazy when it’s not your fault . They should allow those who have tried to go move forth . All , this does is set us back . Not because of money but because corona .
