Hi all. I just have a quick question please. I applied for my wife back in March 2020. The case is at NVC now and all required documents have been submitted on Dec 16, 2020. We are still waiting for NVC to schedule an appointment for interview at US embassy in Amman, Jordan. Any ideas if the embassy is processing CR1 visas at this time, and if it does what is the date of the applications they’re working on now. I would appreciate any help. Thank You!

Check the Monthly Immigrant Visa Issuance Statistics - you can see that in January 2021 there were 18 CR-1 visas and 30 IR-1 visas issued from Amman. Go back to previous months if you want to see how that compares to their pre-COVID case load. For example, in January 2020 there were 62 CR-1 and 59 IR-1 visas issued.

No one can know for sure what date of applications they are working on right now; you'll probably just have to be patient.

If the appointment is for a K1 visa, there will probably be a longer wait. The Monthly Nonimmigrant Visa Issuance Statistics show that only two K1 visas were issued from Amman in January 2021 (the last month of data available right now). Worldwide there are still many types of visas (including K1s) that are not being processed. CR-1/IR-1 visas are being given higher priority at the moment.
