So prior to my first post, my spouse interview has been scheduled. His 10yr GC expires on the 29th of this month. His interview is scheduled in April. So we are kinda in limbo as to what we can do about the GC. Based on the instructions, I've already put together all the documents he should take with him. Can I have any suggestions at all as to what can be done. I'll appreciate all responses. Thanks fam🙃

His LPR status still continues after the 29th. He can request an ADIT stamp if N-400 was filed more than 6 months before the expiration date: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-2 "Though USCIS may issue temporary evidence of LPR status in the form of an Alien Documentation Identification and Telecommunication (ADIT) stamp, USCIS does not provide such stamps to aliens with a pending Form N-400 unless the alien filed a Form I-90 or the alien filed Form N-400 more than 6 months before the expiration of his or her PRC."

We've tried on 2 occasions to get the stamp as the application was done 13m prior to expiry. The first time we called and the call was return on Feb 8th and they told us that he has to be within a month of expiry to get an appt. We tried calling back the last week of February, then we were told that an interview was requested. Interview was scheduled on Feb 25th for April 8th so we're in discussion on asking USCIS, what can be done. I saw another post with someone doing Interview and taking the oath the very same day. Hoping we could be that lucky too. Lol

Your expired GC will be returned anyway, there is no point in getting an appointment to get a stamp that will definitely expire on April 8th assuming your field office does same day OATH Ceremony. I would say, don't sweat it getting a stamp or disturbing USCIS.

Good luck in your interview and once again congratulations.

UPDATE:

He went and got the ADIT stamp 2 weeks ago. Yesterday (4.8) he went for his naturalization interview and passed it. His case status was updated a few hours ago stating that he will get a notice for the oath ceremony within 30 days. Prior to my post about my case, I got NOA1 for I-485 and I-765.
