Can i submit a copy of a translated birth certificate, or do i have to submit the original translation with the I-485?

3/31/06 AOS packet sent to Chicago

6/16 EAD approved via email

There is no question about this. Send a copy!!!! Do not give them the original document. You should take it with you to any interviews you might have but never let anybody take this original document.

09 October 4th application package sent. This time they said the app signature page was a copy

10 Oct Sent package again 4th time.

25 Oct Received another NOA for Wife with $625 for the amount with one year extension

30 Oct 2008 Still nothing for step daughter. Checks still haven't cleared the bank

24 November Checks finally cleared the bank

February biometrics for wife Nothing for daughter.

I beleive that even on the instruction page it sais ONLY send copies. I'd check but i'm too lazy :P

Feb 2005 - APPROVED for K1 Visa

June - 2005 - Moved to the USA =)

Apr - 2006 - APPROVED AOS Without Interview!!

Feb - 2008 - REMOVAL of conditions!!!!!

02/20/2008 - Package was sent to TSC.

02/25/2008 - Package confirmed received at TSC.

You are suggested very strongly to send in copies. If USCIS wants a real one, they'll probably tell you. I highly recommend the copy because if anything should happen, you can just photocopy the original and send it off again -- no trouble about finding translation services again.
