I used to have a program on my laptop that would print out conversations from facebook messenger . All I had to do was put in the time frames. I have saved quite a bit but it has been several months since i have done this. Recently, I ad work done on my older laptop. Specifically, I had the dvd drive removed and had a solid state drove installed. This procedure wiped out the program I was using to print out the chats from facebook messenger.  I use facebook messenger for chatting with my fiancee in the Philippines. As I mentioned, I have saved and printed out quite a bit. I'm just wondering how much the us embassy in the Philippines will want to see of the chat logs that i have or if they will even ask. My k1 petition is currently stuck at the nvc with thousands of others but eventually it will hopefully be processed so I am trying to look ahead. I can't find that program anymore and it might not exist. I want to hopefully make the process as easy for her as possible.

I just took two random screenshots of messenger chats for each month that we have been communicating.

I don't know if it helped our case; we included it in our petition to show our communication strength. Our interview is scheduled for 03/31. I hadn't thought about asking my fiancé to print those out to bring with him; I assumed they would have a copy of all the information we sent in the petition and any other information they gathered during background checks. Now I'm wondering if he should print out the entire petition packet that we submitted.

I was able to download our chat log directly from Facebook when we were still using Messenger.

To download:
— Click on the disclosure triangle in the upper right corner of your Facebook window
— Click on Settings & Privacy
— Click on Settings
— Click on Your Facebook Information
— Click on Download Your Information
— adjust the filters for date range, format, and media quality
— you'll probably want to click Deselect All (just below the Create File button) and then select Messages
— Click Create File

It'll take a fair amount of time to get the file because that'll be all of your chats with everyone.

You'll be able to get your file from Available Copies, which is the next tab over from Request Copy.

We've since moved to Messages on the iPhone. I use iMazing (Mac and PC compatible), a program that can extract text and WhatsApp messages.

Hello!

I personally added 6 pages of chat logs, 6 of emails and 6 of videochat screens and it worked all right for me.

They care more about seeing things like flight tickets, photos and anything you guys may have done together when in person.

Hang tough and stay positive.

No, you will not need them for Manila. You can take them with you as emotional support documents if you want) I attended the interview with my wife (then fiance) and overheard dozens of interviews. None of them were asked for chat logs. If you pose this question in the Philippine regional forum I think the consensus will be that chat logs are not normally necessary or asked for during the K-1 interview at the embassy in Manila.

Finally done...

Last year my fiance got a 221(g) for a couple items (from the Manila embassy), and one was for evidence of an ongoing relationship. We sent a sample page of facebook chat messages for each month since the submission of the I-129F. I got them by using the facebook feature of saving a conversation history to a file and I printed some pages from that.

I was never asked for chat logs during my K1 process (nor my adjustment of status process), and I never supplied them either.

Later on during my adjustment of status process after moving to America, I did supply immigration with random months of phone logs showing the time and dates of the phone calls between my husband and I, but they didn't specifically ask for them.
