Quick question. Application did not state to include tax transcripts. Should I include them, just in case? Or should I keep them until asked? I was going to give them the past 5 years', but stopped due to wanting to protect my identity from security breaches as much as possible.

I would include them especially if you are applying based on marriage. Otherwise it is up to you

Okay. I applied based on 5-years of permanent residency. I just decided, it's better to give them as much as possible. Hoping that no breaches happen in the USCIS. I figured if there's a breach, all my info is with USCIS anyway, so I might as well just give them whatever I have.

It is encouraging to know that I do not have to submit more evidence with the online application, but what concerns me is the notification that I receive that I "should" submit more evidence. I am attaching a screen shot. The system asked me only for two specific documents -- my green card and the divorce certificate - which I uploaded. When I clicked 'Next' (meaning I did not submit anything else), this warning in yellow appeared that I "should" submit more documents, but with nothing specific added.

Well, if your case needs no evidence at this time, then it doesn't. Only thing I can think of for a 5 year filer would be the tax account transcript to show you do not owe the IRS any taxes. My husband provided the most recent IRS Record of Account transcript which is the tax return transcript and account transcript all in one. It shows he is filing taxes and owes nothing. Did not have to upload that even, but did.

what I understood rrom other people on here, the more documents you upload when submitting the fewer questions you are asked during the interview

Let's just say that the more documents you upload, the more "educated" the AO is about you.  Some of the questions asked of me during my interview acknowledged that she had read my entire file before I went into that room

This is the data that they are posting in February group regarding applications pending and approved/denied, etc.: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/reports/N400_performancedata_fy2021_qtr2.pdf

Just wondering, how do you know which field office is yours? I'm closest to Orlando (I literally live about 30 mins from the office), but I applied electronically. And Orlando seems have chugged a lot (with few applications pending) in the 2nd quarter (Jan - Mar).

Go here, and at the bottom of the page you can put in your zip code to search for your local field office >>

Hi there! Filing on basis of three year rule. My window openned 10 days ago but was not ready with the documents. I got all supporting documents except the transcripts. The accountant is working on returns and may be by the end of next week returns will be filed. I am thinking to upload  tax return documents next week and upload the transcripts as an when they will be available or take it to the interview. Any thoughts on this? Thank you so much for your time in advance.

I decided to upload mine immediately. You can get your tax transcripts right from the IRS website. Just print them to pdf and attach them to your file on USCIS.

Thank you bsd058. I agree with you completely. I want to top load everything before submitting the form but  the glitch is tax transcripts.

We operate everything online. I really wish to get this IRS thing worked out online too but not that lucky. It doesn't take any of our addresses coz we moved to three different cities in last four years. Fun of life!! So, for now IRS sign up is not working. Also, I did call IRS and after waiting for more than an hour got through to a very helpful agent. She did tell me the mailing address on file. I tried with that address too and could not register with IRS. She updated our current address and explained to me that after filing returns with new address, I should try to sign up again and it will accept our address. Also, once we file return we should wait for at least 3 weeks to call them and order certified transcripts.

P.S. we are filing taxes for all three last years :( 18,19 and 20 - Life happens :(

That's why I am thinking to submit the form in approximately one week, after I get tax returns from the accountant and upload the transcripts when available or take them to the interview.

I have these documents ready:

Health insurance doc with joint names

Joint bank statements

Joint filing of 2017 Tax transcript

House lease in joint names

Utility Bills in Joint names

Marriage certificate

Spouse's birth certificate and passport

My passport

My green card

My driver's license

Lots of group and couple pictures with friends and family

Also, I will go for last name change and will take spouse's last name. I am thinking is it not enough to prove marriage based naturalization.

In different threads people have mentioned about uploading transcripts but not tax returns. Thought to write in detail. May be someone has similar case or suggestions.

Thank you in advance and please be kind!!
