Hi Everyone,

I'm so glad I found this thread.

I filed my N400 online June 9th 2021. Biometric reuse and case actively reviewed notices on June 10th and nothing after that 😭 Memphis Tennessee field office. Is there any chance my file is lost somewhere? I'm starting to get a little worried here 😥. Is there anything that can be done at this point since my case is not outside normal processing time yet?

Don't worry, there are people here waiting since 2020, you are waiting only for ~7 months, nothing to worry about, just be patient and let the time go.

It's probably not lost. Our group is just starting to get notices of interview. Could be another month or so before you get yours. Keep your chin up. I know it's easier said than done, and I'm not one to talk (I complain more than anyone). Your turn is coming, though. I hope it comes soon.

I know I'm being a spoiled brat by posting this (last time I complained my interview was scheduled like a few days later). This is just a (metaphorical) kid before Christmas waiting to open his presents talking...I really just want this waiting to be over. Feb 28th cannot come soon enough! So excited! lol. I hope you all receive good news, soon!

Pretty stoked for you i hope Feb 28th comes super fast for you. Unfortunately for me i am still awaiting news about Oath which is frustrating because officer said recommending you for approval but we need to process your background check and here i am still waiting, I was banking on same day oath but yeah fingers crossed.

Thanks! I will try not to give it too much thought. I think what got me concerned is that family members who applied after I did already got their interviews and some are even scheduled for the oath ceremony. I wonder if that difference in timelines for spouses or family members has happened to anyone else?

Well, the interview is fast approaching and I just had a question. I know I will be tested on civics and language. The officer should go through the application with me, too, to ensure that it is all accurate. People I’ve asked on Facebook seem convinced that you can’t bring your application into the interview with you because they’ll test you on it. But I don’t think an app should ever be treated like a test. That I should be allowed to just bring it in with me to the interview to ensure that it’s accurate line by line with the officer. I reviewed the letter and it says nothing about being “tested” on the application. It says I’ll be tested on civics and language. So my question is, can I bring my application into the interview with me so that if the officer asks a question I can’t remember the answer to, I can review it? I feel like the app being accurate is more important than remembering ever detail by heart. I’m sure I’ll find out in a couple of weeks. I just figured I would ask in case anyone here knows with a degree of certainty. Thanks.

I had my application with me and glanced at it a few times (I forgot my social security number, oops). The officer did not mind. I don't know if other officers would think differently.

It's perfectly fine. I had my whole stack (application + supporting documents) with me. It was a big pile, no issues. I had it ready in case I needed it. On the interview, the officer did ask details from the application form. LOL - like @peachouille i forgot my SSN! my husband is the one who has memorized it, i have always asked him each and every time I needed it. when the officer asked me what my ssn was, my exact words were, omg, i don't know. wait let me look in my files. my husband was there in the room because mine was combo interview...but at the start of the interview the officer said, no coaching so i could not ask him lol. then officer then said, if i recite the ssn, will you recognize it? i said yes, i will recognize the digits, but not the order. officer recited it to me, i said, that's it and we moved on. i was approved, oath scheduled in two weeks.

i think glancing at it from time to time is perfectly acceptable. and i believe that if a person faked the app and somehow got through and presents at the interview like they are faking the details on the app, trust me the officer will know it! they do this several times a day, each day of the week, they CAN tell.

the officer also reviewed my travel details with me...i also brought my own list to confirm the dates and the officer did not mind that as well. she did tell me that she will go with the dates that's captured in the immigration system that she could see in her screen.

PS - I also did ask the officer how many interviews she does in a day. she only does combo interviews she said and she said around 7 a day. no wonder they take forever to schedule these interviews! i was expecting they do way more!
