Vietnamese: How to put a Vietnamese address on the NVC application

Hello Visajourney members,

My mom's case is at the NVC stage now. I'm filling out her info on the US Department of States website (form DS - 260). Her address in Vietnam contains a splash "/" in the address (ie, 42 / 8  Tran Phu St, Ward 4, Vinh Long City, Vietnam), but apparently the form on the NVC website does not allow "/" in the address field. Ironically it allows "?" ,"-", ";" instead. So my questions is, for those you are petitioning someone in Vietnam, how did you put their address (especially with a splash "/") on the NVC form?

Thanks ton!!!!!

N-400:

07/19/2019: Applied online

08/07/2019: Biometrics

01/22/2020: Interview scheduled

02/26/2020: Interview.

02/27/2020: Status changed to Approved. Oath scheduled for 03/18/2020

Thank you, but how do they mail the interview notice letter (if there is even one)? How do they contact the beneficiary to let them know the interview date?

Ok great. That's good to know. I'm still paranoid about important notice getting lost in the mail from my experience with USCIS in the last couple years lol

Try again.   This discusses the ending of processing sent inbound postal mail TO NVC.  This should not be confused with how NVC communicates outbound, which has primarily been email for a decade or so.

Use the hyphen.

The NVC does everything by email and online through the CEAC.  The interview letter is online.

At the interview, you mom can confirm her address for local courier delivery of her passport and visa.  The courier will know what to do make the delivery.

On June 1, 2020, National Visa Center will no longer accept or respond to inquiries through mail.
