Returning to USA, catch covid, not yet covered by insurance

Do you realize you are at higher risk of dying from about 100 other things than you are of covid, based on your age? If you are worried about covid, there are so many other things you should worry about first. I am 46 with congestive heart failure. I have covid right now and it just feels like I have a bad hangover. My 27 year old fiancé got it too. She lost her sense of taste for three weeks. That’s it. Yes, we are an N of 2, but if you look at the age statistics, you will see the same story. If you also read the statistics on air travel, you will see airports and airplanes have the lowest transmission rates of almost all public places. Follow the rules. Keep your distance. Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Watch out for lightning strikes too... almost as likely as you dying from covid.

Try Seven Corners. They offer COVID-19 coverage on their traveler's insurance policies. You can be covered whether or not you are in the US and for up to one year.

Thanks for the link, I am looking into this as well. It's not bad for what it is.

2. One option is to wait until open enrollment to migrate, then buy a family plan together as soon as we land. (then get a vaccine at the nearest location immediately)

The vaccine isn’t available for everyone yet. Unless your in 1B category you won’t be able to get the vaccine until it is opened up for the rest of the population. Not all seniors have gotten their vaccine yet, or people with pre-existing health conditions. Based on what the President is saying vaccine might be available in May to everyone.

You don't need to wait. The move opens up Special enrollment: https://www.healthcare.gov/coverage-outside-open-enrollment/special-enrollment-period/

This is extremely helpful. Thank you
