Questions regarding filling out renunciation certificate form

I am filling out renunciation certificate form at https://visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/india/united-states-of-america/passport-services/pdf/renunciation-certificate-fillable-form.pdf.

I am confused about the date formats. Are the dates supposed to be DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY?

When I enter 30/06/1980 (DD/MM/YYYY) in question 6, date changes to 06/30/1980 (MM/DD/YYYY).

Do we have a guide of some sort for this little form?

US format is: MM/DD/YYYY

Hmmm. I am not really asking what US date format is. What I am asking is what the date format is for that renunciation certificate form as many other documents specify that the date format must be DD/MM/YYYY but this one does not.

I haven't seen a US form that didn't use MM/DD/YYYY. Which ones have you seen that specify DD/MM/YYYY?

I also think that the form changing the date as you input it is probably a pretty good indicator of the format they're looking for.

Patience......patience.

It is not a US form. It is the form you fill out after you get your US passport to renounce the Indian passport and send it to Indian embassy along with Indian passport and bunch of other documents.

in the link that you included it says: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/india/united-states-of-america/passport-services/pdf/renunciation-certificate-fillable-form.pdf I think that that would indicate you would follow US format? Either way, neca is right in that if the form defaulted to MM/DD instead of DD/MM, that should answer your question

Not really but I figured out that it is in neither of those formats. It is in DD-MMM-YYYY format.
