Please help: wish to immigrate my Latvian gf - which service is best?

Hello - I am a USA citizen and I wish to marry my girlfriend who is a citizen of Latvia.  I want assistance and do not want to do the legal work myself.

 

Should i hire a family-based immigration attorney or should I  use one of the websites like Boundless or Simple Citizen?  What’s your opinion?

You will be required to do all the leg work of gathering documents and providing all the information regardless. An attorney or service will simply fill in some forms with information you provide, then send the forms to USCIS. Actually, there is no real "legal work" required.

Well there isn’t really “legal” work involved so to speak... it’s just filling out forms and providing evidence, then a lot of waiting... all of the services mentioned by you will make you do 99% of the work for them, they mainly just rearrange it to look pretty, check it (usually not very well, lots of horror stories there) and then they submit it on your behalf...

 

 if your case is straight forward e.g. no criminal records etc then I’d recommend you save your money and do it yourself.. immigration isn’t cheap and needless additional fee’s add up fast.

 

Go review K1 process since your not already married... but please note k1 has its drawbacks, study it well before deciding on k1... many people find getting married first and then applying for CR1 is a far better option.. 

 

engaging services of third parties such as lawyer is totally up to you, but before you get started review and compare K1 vs CR1 to determine which is the better option for your personal circumstances

It's not any "less" work to pay someone to file a petition for you.  You have to provide everything either way.

 

Also:  VisaJourney is a DIY site, and most of us have done our own without lawyers.  Unless there is criminal history or something, you really don't need one.
