i know its awful but its too late to change GP or anything unfortunately. so basically i requested my records a month in advance, they didnt get them to me until it was too late so i had no records at the medical. i informed the medical examiner about this and she is now requesting my records from them directly herself.

They do not want ALL your medical records. They want the summary report that should already exist and be easy for a clerk to print out or even find online yourself if your practice is set up that way. But you also need something in writing from the doctor saying you are not a threat to yourself or others if you want the question of self-harm put to rest.

i know, but my gp are not doing as i ask. so the medical examiner is on the case herself and going to contact my gp directly with what she needs from him.

Depending on how your doctor wrote on the medical examination form, it may be used as a ground of inadmissibility especially if it has a record of self-harm or inflicting harm on others.

I did it once 10 years ago and never again since. i have no history of violence or suicide attempts etc

I attempted an over dose years ago which I declared at my medical. I had to get a letter from my GP to say I will not harm myself or others and send that to the medical center before they would send it to the embassy. It all worked out fine for me and it hasn't been bought up since. I can't help with the lying about it dilemma though sorry. Just for future reference, ALWAYS be truthful to immigration no matter how you feel about it or it will come back and bite you in the future. They have seen it all I'm sure so don't be embarrassed.

I second this. I was hospitalised against my will in 2003 in a psychiatric facility. In other words, I was 'sectioned'. I had a report from the GP that contained the magic words 'no longer poses any risk to herself or others'. We discussed it at the medical, of course. I explained the background and it was no biggie.

I passed the interview in 2016 without any issue. I think the bigger issue here is the 'lying' or hiding the facts. That could be hard to overcome. I'm pretty sure that had you got a report from your GP it would have been fine and would have contained the magic words 'no risk to himself or anyone else'. If I got that after being hospitalised as an adult, I'm sure you'd have no problem with some scars from your youth.

Hey hon, I've seen a lot of post from you and I want you to take a deep breath and stay calm. I know this process is scary but unless you committed a felony offense due to mental health issue you have nothing to worry about. Depression, anxiety, etc are ok! Those are common problems for millions of people. Please try to relax and breath. This process is so stressful already. Trust me, I have been in your shoes but once you are your future spouse are united you will look back and think why did I worry so much.
