Can I renew my foreign passport with AOS pending?

Hi,

 

My UK passport is expiring in 6 weeks. I want to apply to renew it. Will this cause me any problems on my AOS?

You will have to mail that passport off to the UK with the renewal application. They do send it back. Will you need it for ID or will your AOS interview be soon? AOS won’t care if you have a new passport. You can take both to interview.

Thank you. I was worried about the (expired) visa stamp.

 

no interview on the horizon, case is still at finger prints have been received. 
 

it feels scary to send the passport back and to be left without any ID (other than a UK driving license) but if that’s the way it goes I’ll go ahead.
