Bluewater Bridge POE Review

Sorry we didnt write up a review for the montreal trip, being as Allie posted what we would have posted anyways being as we were there at the same time. My husband had the bright idea to borrow and trailer and towing with his jeep. Once we finished loading up the trailer last nite, we hooked it up to the jeep and well, the front wheels were almost off the ground, hehe. Well, we made the trip over using the Bluewater Bridge POE today. We didnt have any problems coming over. We pulled up to the booth and told him that we needed to activate a K-3 Visa, he filled the yellow form and sent us on in to secondary, after going into a fairly long gripe about how us guys that are doing things the right way get #######. He said he is glad that the new bill didnt get passed. The officer was awesome, he had a very good sense of humor. Upon entering secondary, we got into line and stood there for about an hour, of course being as its the long weekend, there was quite the line. Once we got up to the counter is was a very quick and painless procedure. She was awesome too. All the officers that we dealt with today were really good. She took my passport/visa, and my envelope. She realized it was a k-3 and said oh, i need to go and get my book. Then she came back, she stamped my passport, a few pages in the packet, and stapled the work authorization into the passport as well, and said that the visa expires in 2 years, and then she said we were free to go. They never asked to see what was in the trailer. I made an inventory list of everything I had, and they never asked to see that either. All in all it was an awesome trip despite having to wait in line for so long, but I suppose that it could have been worse. I am very happy to be home, its about time.

Whoa wait a second, you got an EAD stamp? K3s aren't actually work authorised without applying for an EAD through USCIS. Hmm...

Congrats! I'm glad to hear about the awesome experience. What day did you actually cross? We waited two hours and forty-five minutes on the bridge on Saturday going over to the States to attend a wedding. We got on the 402 at Indian, and the cars were actually backed up to probably about Modeland.

We didnt get an "ead stamp" per say... on the back of the i-94, she hand wrote "Employment is Authorized." I seemed a little odd to me, and we didnt ask for it or anything. Not too worried about it however, with an 8 month old at home, and another on the way... taking a job right now isnt really part of the picture.

We got to the bridge a little before 8am (hoping to beat the crowds), and it was an hour wait then. By the time we left, the line for secondary was out to the road... so Im not too supprised by a 3 hour wait later in the morning.

They tried giving my husband EA too but he said he didnt need it and couldnt have it anyway.

He crossed Saturday too on the way back from picking up his son. They sat for over 2 hours........when he reached the booth with no I-94 the guy asked him where his " multiple entry thing " was.

.... my husband said "do you want my I-94" ......

guy says "yeah thats the thing"

...........hubby says " you guys said I dont need one , Windsor said I do".

Guy says " yeah we dont really use them........have a nice day"

He didnt blink an eye that there was a child .......whom my husband does NOT have custody of, sitting in the passenger seat.

Anyway , Congratsand glad you made it safely home!!!
