Will they accept an out of state DL on the interview?

We moved from CA to WA last November and I have yet to apply for a WA license due to covid. We're also only going to be here for 12-14 months and then going back to CA so I'm on the fence about switching everything over and then having to go back to the DMV in CA to do it all over again. Would it be a problem if I presented an out of state DL during the interview and just provide our lease, utility bills and the USPS change of address confirmation?

JUst off topic but...Do you drive? I would think it's not a good idea to not have a current address on your DL esp if the old address is out of state. You also would have a problem with car insurance if you don't have an updated DL since they might not cover you when you get into an accident.

 

But you don't drive, imho DL is just proof of ID and your suggestion might work. Not my experience though. Hopefully others will chime in.

There was a case, do not remember if VJ or another forum, where OOS DL led to denial due to requirement to be resident in the jurisdiction doing the n400.

Yea I drive but with covid, I really don’t go anywhere. 
 

insurance is already switched over to the new address. The issuing state had no bearing.

Not a must. I did mine with an OOS Drivers licence. No issues came up

Nope. The IO figured with my employment history, i had been in the area for a while
