Hi Dear,

I checked visa statistics of Montreal embassy for Immigrant Visas, for Dec 2021...bit disappointed....no F2B visa :( issued...whats going on...any clue...what if i change my category to F1 (unmarried adult children of US Citizens) as my mother naturalised....but visa bulletin is not moving either since 6 months(PDate 10 dec 2014), if i inform NVC to stay in F2B(adult unmarried children of LPRs)...how to go about it & how much time will it take to get updated...

Same exact situation @Waiting_ever - I am DQ'd September 2020, and just got my 4th letter to "keep waiting."

That's why I wanted to get this thread restarted; to understand other F2Bs' timelines and what is the pace of Montreal Consulate interviews for this category.

hello , any update?

Montreal is very slow, I think you still gotta wait 3 months or more.

been DQed since Jan 19th 2023. No interview letter.

@bobo 123 what’s your Priority date and visa category if you don’t mind asking me. Is your spouse US PR or Citizen? If you don’t mind me asking. Also, I think the processing time is different for spouses of PR and Citizens.

Secondly, I would like to ask to everyone if they can share about the importance of Priority date in lieu of receiving interview letter for US spouse based visa categories IR1/CR1.

My category if not the same, it’s F2B
but Someone over here said they were DQed in Jan, some were DQed in Feb and still haven’t gotten an interview letter. I believe their category is the same as yours.

My father sponsored me and he’s us citizen. My priority date is 26th March 2015! It’s been a long wait for me! Sigh 😔

Im hoping I get interview view letter soon, hopefully this month or next.

This is what the Montreal embassy is saying on their website.

  • “It is not possible to provide precise wait times for immigrant visa appointments, as facilities, staffing resources, and local conditions all affect capacity and scheduling.  As of May 01, 2023, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in January 2023; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in December 2022; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in January 2021.”

As stated before, the thread is IR/CR-1 spouses of US citizens.  You may not find answers here.

If you fill out your timeline, it would be helpful.  https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=447795  Is your FP category current for the country you're from?

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I find this thread is getting really confusing with non-CR1/IR1 folks posting their DQ and interview dates. @bobo123 I recommend using the appropriate thread posted above by mam251.

I understand that you mentioned the other thread isn't getting updates, but this thread won't help you get the information you need as this is CR1 and IR1.

Thanks!!
