just wrong..men seldom ever get ill...and when they do..they like a little tlc and some empathy..and of course, we all remember dear mom, and when ill., she was there reinforcing our ever moan or cough or sneeze

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

see, i've learned not to do that with my boys. When they are hurt it's "is there any blood or bone showing? No, then you're fine, go play." When they are sick they get a bucket and the couch. My 11 year old when he gets sick now is like "It's ok mom, I'll be fine tomorrow." And lays down. The 6 year old is more of a baby, but that's because I baby him with lots of stuff

Men are the worst patients... I know when Anton was sick he acted like a baby, yet wouldn't do anything about it, until I shoved a cup of hot tea into his hands laced with Whiskey...

When women are sick we still work, do dishes, cook and take care of our illness before we are allowed to act sick..

Moondancer

Oh lord is that the truth! When I tell hubby that he gets mad at me...lol...they are the biggest babies EVER...Maybe that's why we're the ones who get monthlys...

C'mon girls.....you do your share of complaining and acting like babies too....you're just more clever about it.

lol...well at least we complain whilst carrying on with our daily work...

i'll let them watch tv if they are sick. But the PS2 is off limits. And nothing to eat but soup and toast and nothing to drink but water (my kids love milk so that kills them  ) It's very easy to weed out the real illnesses in our house.

Thats Just Wrong!! All (well most) the guys I work with (including me) come in dying sometimes. I have had to tell some people (guys) to go home because they look like they are in critical condition. SOME of the women I work with (not all) are always complaining about how sick they are (poor things) until happy hour comes along  .

I HAD NO CHOICE but to get it  My 6 year old came up with a variety of illness ideas in order to stay home from school. We could weed out the obvious (I have chicken pox mom "nice try you had that when you were 9 months old nick" We kept expecting him to tell us he had the plague or something  ) but the general "I have a stomach ache. I'm going to throw up" wasn't so easy to figure out. I think we cured him of that after a trip to the doctor, then a trip to the hospital (lots of needles and tests) and then just plain telling him... ok well if you throw up your teacher will call me.

Fortunately for me, my husband isnt like that. He has a high tolerance for pain and doesnt complain about it much. So i know, when he does actually complain about being sick, its totally for real. Still, he doesnt complain often cause him missing a day of work isnt much of a luxury for us right now. I kinda feel bad for the guy cause he cant have those days where he's just not feeling well and doesnt want to go to work.

I aint cool enough for a signature.....

see that's me. I CAN'T miss work. I'm the only one here in this office, my boss-brother is a butthead and calls me all day if i'm not here, and we for a very long time couldn't afford it for me to be sick. I actually had to go to work every single day while I was having my second miscarriage. It was horrible. But it was either that or my family would starve.

And J is so not like that if it's a work day. He has incredible work ethic (not missing a day of work in denmark for 3 years) and won't call off. The only time he ever called in sick was when we had to go to immigration to get the latest drama straightened out.
