Are your documents you sent scanned in on your documents page?

I'm not sure. I mailed the petition, and have only received the text last night and it just switched to reviewing a few minutes ago.

Ahh I gotcha. You can use your IOE number to make an online account and see any updates and what documents are uploaded.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

Oh really? I have a USCIS account but I didn't know we could check the documents. Thanks for letting me know.

Anyone else looked at the K3 visa? I have heard many times that it's useless and serves no purpose, but at the California center it's showing K3 petitions are averaging 5-7 months while i130s are averaging more than twice that.

Mine changed to activley reviewing as well. A week after it was received. But no update. Online said mine was in Nebraska. Reps said CA. Many people are getting their petitions approved within the same day/next day or weeks after it changes.

I filed a K3 and mailed it in the other day. Everyone says it’s pretty much dead as they’ve only issued like 6 in 2019. But a lot of people also said it’s congruent with the I-130 and when theirs got denied their I-130 was shortly approved after.

why even have the K3 exist still if their dead. And why are they sending applications to California which has an almost 2 year backlog while Nebraska is as little as 2 weeks right now. Ahhhh

I know, it makes no sense. I asked the rep about it and she said "It is up to your discretion to file the K3". That was it. I don't get it either, lol.

I recently filed an i-129f in july 2020 (although it was for k1 not k3) and waited over 8 and a half months before we decided to get married to cancel it. It was not approved in that time.

Hello. My case status was changed to actively being reviewed on the 1st of April. Wondering if you have had any updates from USCiS yet. I filed on the 5th of March

So I just called USCIS because the whole “actively reviewing” was driving me nuts if it’s indeed in CA and not Nebraska since it seems too quick.

he told me it was in an officers hands and they have already ordered background checks and waiting for more info to come in which could take time but there has been a lot of activity in his opinion for the month of March.

What does a lot of activity mean?

Interesting, I am right next to you in Topeka, KS. About an hour away. The receipt notice was sent to my phone and it says our case is going to Nebraska.

Oh wow! What a small world! :)

no updates on our case yet. Reading about everyone checking on their case status to frequently makes me feels like I don’t check on our status often enough. Lol 😅

But I guess we did not realize that processing times vary so much depending on the assigned service center. 😮

Right there with you! I’m at Potomac too and it looks like the average time is around a year before we may even hear anything. Hoping for sooner but prepared to be patient!

Funny, because when I see people *not* checking all the time it makes me think I am checking TOO much, because it seems the more I check, the more unclear it seems. lol

Those numbers constantly change.  Allot. In July of 2020 everyone submitting an I-130 petition was hoping and praying it would get sent to Texas or Potomac because they were by far the fastest centers at that time.  A month later, by August of 2020, everyone was hoping their petition would get sent to Texas or California, since Texas and California were way faster than the other centers.  But those number are only a reflection of approvals at a certain point in time.  What the statistics may be if and when todays petitions actually start getting approved is anyone's guess.  But it is kind of predictable that they will be way different than they are now.
