I work in Orange County, California. Everyone has been back to work for a while now. There hasn't been capacity limits other than the 6ft apart social distancing guidelines in a long time. California does, however, have paid sick time for COVID related absences. Also, workers are told to stay home if they are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID. All of these things can reduce the number of employees working on any given day. I don't think any of these things have changed over the last couple of weeks when processing speed has slowly increased. I'm not sure what is causing the increase, but really hoping that the trend continues.

Thank you for clarifying! Hope that the trend continues as well. I think some of us were just confused because Tier 1 was saying they were at 40% capacity, which was hard to attribute to anything. My assumption is that more people were explicitly assigned to the I-129F 'division,' as these numbers are absolutely mission-critical for getting the wait back under 11 months. To me, there doesn't seem to be any physical way for the adjudicators to suddenly be able to handle nearly 100 more cases a day, particularly considering that last week was still relatively 'full' and it wasn't like they were just holding all these approvals for the weekend. They all came through at closing time - it seems like they were, indeed, all done yesterday by a new crew of people. We love them!

Has anyone who has gotten an approval recently been notified by text message or email?  I sent in the electronic notification form with my petition and received notification of my NOA-1 via text and email but it was very late at night so I am wondering if those notifications are delayed.

I saw that as well and wondered what causes a transfer

As far as I know or have read California service center doesn't provide electronic updates. I submitted the same form and never got any electronic notification. But maybe someone more well versed can confirm this.

That form is basically only to notify you of receipt/acceptance. You will not be notified of a decision other than receiving the notice in the mail; unless you check, of course.

Hello fellow March '21 applicants. So I see on the USCIS site it shows the various center's processing times. Back when I applied I sent my forms to the Texas center but when I look at their website I see Texas only showing k3/k4 processing times 3.5-7 months. When looking at the Cali center it shows times for k1/k2 and k3/k4. Does this mean Texas is not processing k1 visas? If not is there something I need to do to get my forms to the Cali center?

TIA!

All K-1 visas are sent to the lockbox in Texas, but are all processed in California.

Hang in there! With the new team in the office and these swift approvals of many in the thread, it must be the Valentine's day siege of reckoning to get us all approved.
