Question for those who had a congressional inquiry submitted - did you receive a confirmation email as received when you submit an inquiry yourself or have a USCIS agent submit on your behalf? Just curious, not because I think that it will make much of a difference, but more to see if they are telling me the truth, lol. 😆

Hey! Interesting you ask lol, I just got the response from mine today. You don’t get anything from USCIS, but an official at CSC will write back to your rep within 4-6 weeks. My response from the official said that due to the backlog, they’re actually on February cases. Though the letter was dated early January. We’ll see, it didn’t mention my case specifically besides “pending review” but I want expecting anything more, I’m not one of the lucky ones it seems haha

Have you submitted an inquiry yourself? If so, has the response been that they can’t provide a timeframe, or that it’s assigned to an officer?

Some people are hesitant to submit inquiries, but it’s the only way that we can get somewhat of an “update” on our cases - as uninformative as the responses may be. I’ve had four submitted (two myself and two T1 agent). The first three got the generic response but the fourth said that it’s been assigned to an officer but they couldn’t provide a date for adjudication. My congress rep’s office submitted another this week (5th 😅) and I asked to be put in queue to get a phone call from a T2 agent/officer. We shall see how this goes, and curious to see what the response to my rep says, lol.

Yes! I managed to submit two inquiries myself, the first in November came back saying they couldn't say when they'd "complete review" on my petition, and the second, which came back a few days ago, said they couldn't say when they'd "review" my petition. When did you get the one about assignment, btw? I see that you're a March 8th filer; you guys are almost certainly being considered! While I'm of course very anxious as to why mine hasn't yet, I recognize that the 9 days between your NOA1 and mine reflects almost 900 unopened petitions. It would be illogical for me to assume that 900 petitions would be assigned even before earlier ones are adjudicated. So I'm disheartened, but don't believe it's cause for concern.

It seems to me that once you get that response (that it's been assigned), your adjudication isn't far away. The whole 30-45 day wait thing seemed very exaggerated as well, so don't worry that yours didn't have a date. Very interested to see the totals for tonight. If we broke 50 March cases, that's wonderful news for the future. Though it, again, makes me very sad that at such speeds, mid-March has yet to be assigned :(

At 50 cases per day, mid-March will shine very late January/February. It's very shocking to me we're flirting with the 11 month NOA2 wait.

There were 4,078 applicants total. 321 were denied/rejected, 549 have been approved (as of yesterday) and 321 have RFEs. Again, as of yesterday, that left 3,003 as untouched, but we already know around 50 more were done today as of mid-day. Find the charts here and here

I submitted the inquiry 12/17 and on 12/30 got the response saying that it was assigned. It is baffling that they are so far behind but it is what it is, I guess. I know that many state government offices are facing staff absences due to covid, so it is likely that the federal

government is having the same issues. I am happy for those in early and late March who have already gotten their approvals, but it is a bit disheartening as well. Oh well, we have no other choice but to be patient.

Exactly; it's my understanding, too, that even USCIS is remote. I think I heard that the officers are coming in to pick up packets and then taking them home to adjudicate? Not sure of the truth of that, but it seems like an interesting strategy to keep the ball rolling. At least, it would explain why we're seeing approvals be 'dumped' at random parts of the day.

As we start to see more and more March filers get approved per day, perhaps the responses to our inquiries will slowly change as well. We know they really love the 600x group, so I think the majority of people in that section who've inquired have gotten responses similar to yours. Those after have gotten both the '30-45 day wait' one and the other generic one that just says pending review. This week, I think, has given us all some renewed confidence, but it's probably worth recognizing that while Omnicron continues, things will just be 'weird'... not necessarily bad, but just unpredictable. And that's quite irksome for such chart/number-savvy people like us :)

At 50 a day, that would be a little over a thousand a month, and would take them 4 months to complete over 4000 filers in March. That does not seem sustainable at all to me.

In any case, silly question: if you file in March and received your NOA1 in April, would you be a March filer or April?

Eh, I mean all things considered, they have less than 3,000 March filers left. They won't finish March before moving on to April - we see there's still January filers waiting for approvals, in fact, 49 are still waiting in the last January category in particular. 50 is far, far better than the 10 we were getting for almost a month; it's certainly not sustainable, but it's better than what we've had before. For us, NOA2 will be a 10-12 month wait, but for April and beyond it will easily be 12+ as this compounds further.

To answer your second question: April filer, but be aware of how NOA1 is calculated; it's your received date, not notice. Most of us likely 'received' our NOA1 in April, but this is our 'notice'; USCIS goes by the date they received your packet for the purpose of inquiries. This is also verified by the WAC numbers which correspond with the earlier date.

As a July filer, I want to curl into a ball and cry 😃

When we filed the petition, NOA2 estimate was 6-8 months. I don't even know what to do now...I haven't seen my partner since March 2020 and with no way to tell how long the wait is gonna be, I'm losing all hope.

Good luck to you guys. I've been reading the forum every day, rooting for you all.

I'm very sorry for you, although as a March filer/April notice, there is no guarantee of anything, if they are still looking into January.

On the personal side, I'm very sympathetic for your wait. I have been very luck that we managed to travel both ways on a more or less regular basis. The harder part is that we were living together prior, and this has been a painful change.

I do hope USCIS is reinforcing their ranks. It is just not possible.
