No, this means that you should expect a reply to your inquiry by that date. Eventually, this will likely be the generic reply that many people have been receiving that states that basically they cannot give a particular time frame on when they will review your case. I also received this response from them after sending an inquiry at the end of October.

I have also just received that generic reply, saying they can't give a time frame for adjudication.

So what happens now? are all options exhausted and it's time to just wait?

Or can we file another inquiry request after X days, or go to the ombudsman...I am wondering because the USCIS seems broken. I used to think "probably around December we can prepare for the embassy interview." Then "probably January"

Then "probably February."

I thought I had read somewhere that you are able to submit a second inquiry after 30 days from submitting the first, but I tried that and it didn't work for me. It still said that I still had an open inquiry even though it has been about a month since they responded to it.

As for the Ombudsman, I believe you have to wait until the receipt date for an inquiry on the USCIS website is more than 60 days after your received date to have any luck with assistance there.

I'm not sure what else there is to do other than just wait, which I think we can all agree that it is very frustrating at this point.

Wow we're quiet here. Is morale that low? I bring good tidings from the Facebook group: many March approvals today, including one from March 15th (which personally makes me happy to see!). Outstanding February cases are quite low and it does definitively seem like they've moved on to our little group. I've learned not to make predictions here, but it's a wonderful thing seeing March approvals again.

This is great to hear! Our NOA-1 is March 15th! Been checking everyday! Fingers crossed we are soon!!

You have to wait 45-60 days to send your second inquiry. I submitted my 2nd inquiry after 2 months from the first one. I am 1/27 filler.

You are in the correct forum. You belong in March. You can also make an "outside of normal processing" inquiry with USCIS if you have not done so.

My fiancee filled out the outside processing time form and we immediately got a response stating that USCIS will process and review our request and we should expect a reply by a certain given date.. does it mean that we will be having our Noa2 by then ?

No, it only means they're going to send you an 'update' to your inquiry that says its process (more than likely, will just say they're working to adjudicate). I have read a few people actually get approvals around the date you're referencing after submitting an inquiry, but this seems largely coincidental.

I feel like an approval before Christmas is around 50% likely for those that are before the 20th of March at this point. Not too hopeful of a statement, but USCIS' determination to get February done before moving on is unmatched.

Hello!

NOA1 notice date March 13

Our generic message receive on Nov29 was:

I also hope for a Christmas miracle.

However, It is more likely that less than 5% are going to receive an update on their case. With only 13 business days left in the year they won't make a dent in the +3000 March cases left (only about 100 approved March cases so far)

January will be our month.

Eh, you're probably right, the more I think about it the chances are just getting increasingly slimmer. But still, if they process 100 cases a day, that's still around 1000 March filers due to get approvals; consider that February has only 500 people remaining, and they've already started reliably approving early March.

If you're within the beginning-mid March I think Christmas is somewhat realistic. Unless someone alerts them to how far behind I-129Fs are and they go back to 200-300 a day.

Interesting that yours says 45 days. I just received the result of our inquiry today saying almost the exact same words except 90 days. "Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 90 days."
NOA1 = March 1st
Inquiry 1 = Nov 20th

Response = Dec 6th

They would have to process like 1 case a day for a March 1st NOA to not get notice until 90 days are up (seriously; February is near done and more March NOA1s were processed today). I feel like the 90 days is a way to get people to stop inquiring, but wow, seeing that made me almost nauseous.

I almost feel like it’s a way to stop us from contacting the ombudsman to report our case being out of processing time. It has to be 60 days past to ask for their assistance and if we have an answer from USCIS saying to wait 3 more months then they probably wouldn’t help us until those 90 days have passed.
