I literally had this exact same convo with my Fiancé. We originally wanted to do the CR-1 because it is just a better deal, but borders shut down and we didn't know when it would open up again for us to get married. So we decided to do the K-1 because we could at least do that.  Now I'm suppose to go visit him in July and I don't even know if we will hear back by then. Do we abandon the K-1 and just go ahead and do the CR-1? But we are "so close." Or do we stick with it and get a response that is horrible and we missed our opportunity to get married and now have to wait additional months for me to come back.

What is even more frustrating is that I looked at the CR-1 timeline and they are already working on July filers from last year. So all this waiting and in the end to wait even more when he comes to the US and we have to do an AOS.

Just got to remain patient and hope for the best.

We spoke with the lawyer today, and her opinion was that the K1 was still better than the CR-1. Not sure about that, considering other variables, however, at this point, it is not worth to switch.

69500 - 3 Approvals (=)

70000 - 10 Approvals (=)

March: 40 Approvals, 4 RFE, 1 Other
April: 10 Approvals

3 new RFEs and 1 Withdrawal to finish the days. All approvals and nearly all activity came in the first couple of hours of the day. This has been a trend, with most activity coming in the morning, and not throughout the day, therefore I'm assuming that the way they are doing most of the work now is doing it one day, and inputting it into whatever system they have that feeds the USCIS website the morning next day.

In any case, 45 cases touched for March today. Considering that some of those approvals may have preceded by RFEs, that should put us slightly below 700 untouched cases.

One of the main people who do updates is out of town. The other are likely preoccupied.

I think if nothing was processed they'd tell us.

No I was checking on the case processing app. I saw nothing in the few ranges I searched

Have you tried the later ones?

hopefully there are updates. Its inhumane how long March cases have been waiting.

I would still assert that K1 is faster than CR-1, which makes it better if speed is your only concern. That is, of course, speaking 'at this moment'; we've seen nothing but the K1 times compound in the last 4-5 months, so it's very, very hard to say. Regardless, keeping with your K1 now will always be infinitely better than switching to CR-1. Waiting at the end is the hardest, for sure, but you'll get your approval when you least expect it - and it will feel well worth it, I promise. My understanding, for new filers, is that spousal adjudication is somewhat of a gamble, especially because the processing centers have wildly different times.

What happened to I-129F processing could easily happen to I-130 with little to no notice. I-129F will need more adjudicators to bring it back under 12 months, which it has never exceeded in history. I believe it will need to speed up soon, which will, likely, mean the other petitions will suffer. It appears that USCIS shifts resources around, and that's why I really have a hard time believing that the current trends will maintain themselves. These past two years have been absolutely crazy, and I think it's just mainly important for us all to accept everything is out of our hands and keep strong. At the end of all this, we'll feel like we did the impossible. For many people, it would be, but I know from being on these forums for so long the people here are incredibly strong and will make it through. Always thinking of you troops and hoping/praying for the best :)

I like your thinking..

70000 - 1 Approval

16 Approvals, 9 RFEs, 1 case reopened for March. 1 Approval for April.

Slow morning, which means, if they keep the work trend of previous days, where most of the activity is coming in the early morning, it will be a slow day. We can hope for an active day, but I'm chosing to remain conservative.

"Greetings,

Thank you for your inquiry, relating to the I-129F petition, filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by Emily. Your constituent’s case is currently with an Adjudications Officer pending review. Please advise the constituent they should receive a notice of action on the case within 30 days. Please contact us again if the timeframe has expired and your constituent has not received a notice of action* from USCIS."

**This is the Response to my latest congressional inquiry on March 9th - exact same as the one I got in January.  My representative has reached back out and said the time frame has expired(as the email says to do) and is not getting any response from them.  We are on day 363 with still no information from the inquires :(

I feel your pain and frustration as I am right there with you on my Day 371 and 4 inquiries later. It's an emotional beat down 😥

Only 2 updates since the morning (1 Approval and 1 RFE). It brings us to 17 Approvals, 10 RFEs and 1 Other. It shouldn't change much the rest of the day, although that would be more than welcome.
