Your NOA-1 is March 16th not April 7.

To all the March Filers, your NOA-1 should be the day they received your application not the date they sent the notice. Please check your timeline to make sure you are not entering April as your NOA-1 date. We discussed this plenty on other forums. Also please see example from USCIS. Notice the "notice date" is irrelevant.

this is from the “help finding your NOA date” link found when editing your timeline in Visa Journey. So are you saying they’re wrong? I’m genuinely asking because that would be crucial.

Circumstances are different in this case because of lockbox delay. Do you see how close in time the Received and "Notice Date" is? You March filers are only delayed about 3 weeks but us November, December and January filers waited 8-12 weeks for our NOA-1. According to the USCIS news update dated January 8th, they mentioned they would backdate the NOA-1 to the date they received the application instead of when they sent the actual paper copy in the mail. I sent my application in January and when I received my paper copy in March,  8 weeks later, it was backdated to the received date with a notice date of March 4. Of course im not putting March 4th as my NOA-1 and even if i did, the system here finds it as an error. The best thing to do is put your case number in USCIS case status and look at the date they put there. If you follow USCIS you will realize that the "received date" is what they go by not the notice date. And finally, yeah you can do what you want as well. :)

Again, I'm genuinely curious as to why VJ has that link when entering your NOA1 date. The January 8th news update (https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-lockbox-updates) makes no mention of backdating. It only says "These delays will not affect the receipt date which is determined pursuant to 8 C.F.R. 103.2(a)(7)." I wasn't trying to come off in a negative way, just want to get the correct information. I understand USCIS only mentions the "received date" but VJ is asking for NOA1.

Sure. To me the news alert sounded like they were backdating it because technically they didn't process the case until weeks later but put the date they received the case instead. Usually they would receive and process the case in the same day but of course I could interpret it wrong! And that could be because the receipt date and NOA-1 were usually only a couple of days to a week off. Now because of delay, i think the "received date" and "notice date"  makes it more apparent.

Did some digging and apparently there are some uscis tracking apps that aren't entirely official. Someone on another thread mentioned creating an account on the official website.https://my.uscis.gov/

After creating my account through there which requires two step verification and entering my receipt number it shows April 7th as the date my case was received by USCIS. Hope this helps!

Sure I already did that and have 2 dates. March 4 and January 11. I still use the Jan 11 date. i think because you guys received your NOA-1s so fast it probably doesn't matter. And in this case these dates are conflicting each other and appears to be backdated.

That might be the case but if you click on the case history tab it should reflect the date your case was received by the USCIS. My opinion is that there is a distinction between when they received the form and when they received the case. Goodluck and stay strong!
